Professional Experience

COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO  

Adjunct Faculty, Interactive Arts and Media (2006 to 2014)

Taught a foundation course titled Digital Image Design. Instructed students in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop software. Provide one-on-one consultation for students to ensure the best possible learning outcomes. In partnership with the Academic Coordinator, build and implement new collaboration-based curriculum that emphasizes design theory, critique, and new media.

 

CROWN POINT HIGH SCHOOL

Holographic Consultant and Instructor (1993)

Designed an introductory holography lab for art and science students.  Created training resources and facilitated a two-day workshop for faculty and staff on holographic techniques and proper lab use.

Shop Columbia advisory board member, Columbia College Chicago (2014 to 2015)

Participate in the selection of student work. Provide feedback and suggestions on work that is not accepted with the goal of improving those students’ future submissions.

Albert P. Weisman Award committee member and advisor, Columbia College Chicago (2009 to 2016)

Cultivate respected arts professionals to serve as jurors. Manage and participate in the proposal review and selection process. Mentor award recipients over the course of proposal implementation. Advise artists on their culminating exhibition. Serve on the team that chooses annual best in show honor and purchase award.  

 

Student Curatorial Projects lead – Interactive Arts and Media, Columbia College Chicago (2009 to 2013)

Co-created, produced, curated, and installed an annual exhibition that brought together first-year students from all of the college’s artistic disciplines with work that broadly explored and interpreted a single theme.

Art Connects juror, Friends of the Chicago River (2006)

Participated in selecting proposals by local and national sculptors for a large-scale outdoor public exhibit on the Chicago River-walk at sites adopted by seven corporate sponsors -- The Boeing Company, General Growth Properties, Nuveen Investments, Prime Group Realty, Two North Riverside Plaza, Unitrin, and Winston & Strawn.
